Don't be shy to be a valentine!!!

Most of the Indians and particularly girls are shy and are afraid to be valentine! Some people think dating is a big mistake. Well, things are changing; and now a days, not many parents think dating is that bad. Actually several parents agree that their children have a right to choose their life partner. There are numerous instances of misunderstandings when people get hurt because someone didn't accept to be his / her valentine. Follow these tips to overcome your shyness and be a valentine, if someone you care for, asks you to be his/her valentine!!!

1.

Understand that being surprised with a Valentine's invitation may trigger your shyness. Think positively about a prospective invitation.

2.

Relax. If someone is asking you about a Valentine's Day date or party, you can be sure he or she is interested in you.

3.

Take a deep breath and make eye contact, at least briefly.

4.

Concentrate on speaking slowly and clearly.

5.

Keep your answers short, simple, direct and polite.

6.

Be encouraging and positive.

7.

Remember, there's no need to extend the conversation. Simply smile and say, "Yes, I'd like that," if you're invited on a Valentine date.

8.

Smile. Often other people confuse being shy with being aloof.

9.

Use your shyness. Be a good listener. Listeners are always popular.

10.

Remember that part of what makes you feel shy is not knowing what to say. Ask questions about the other person instead.

11.

Practice a few conversation starters, perhaps something from the world of sports or entertainment.

12.

Take some small steps first. Meet for coffee. Have lunch together in the company cafeteria.

13.

Ask your prospective valentine to call before the date. Chatting on the telephone can break the ice, and you won't be so shy on the date itself.

14.

Suggest an alternative activity if the date seems overwhelming.

Happy Valentines day!!!
